2-story, lot-dependent basement, walk-ups or Finished attics. A typical example offers a 2-story, gable roofed section, attached to a wide, shallow, rectangular 2-story block. Covered, shallow front porches are usually decorative only Garages are frequent, with 2.5-sometines 4 car widths.  Side-
loading, depending on lot/neighborhood, may be detached. Typically, a Center hall floor plan, with front-to-back hall, half bath, and straight-run staircase from various sized foyers.  High-maintenance, 'Masonite' siding is typical, though failures are increasing, giving way to installations of 'HardiPlank' or vinyl.

Composition roofs are typical. Slate, or 'hi-tech' composites occur in higher price brackets. Wood shakes are a rarity.  Wood floors are seldom seen upstairs; if at all on 1st-fl, they are a decorative upgrade.  Renovations usually includes this upgrade.Ceiling heights are routinely 8'-8.5'; though FR or DR ceilings offer tray or vault detailing.  Architectural mouldings include  chair rail, 2-pd crown and as much as a 6" baseboard.
 
Large, suburban lots, usually developed within a subdivision.  Lots tend towards square shapes, under a half acre, with long side/façade to the street.  Homes are situated in the front half of the lot, with narrow side yards.  
Wood-burning Fireplaces, 2 or more, replace the Fan's shallow, coal burning hearths. Upstairs, 3--5 BRs, offering Master suite with soaking/jetted tubs, double vanities, separate water closet,
and shower. End-suite baths get larger as they get newer, as do walk-ins  Higher quality finishes occur with renovation or build dates in 2000's, as does the first-floor Master Bedroom Public to Private spaces in these homes are often split 50-50%. First floor offers LR, DR, Fam Rm, Eat-in KIT, (larger, newer homes offer Morning/Gathering Rms as well. usually 2500-5000 sq ft floorplans, often stretching into 3 floors.  Kitchens remain somewhat secluded from public spaces.  Enclosed porch/sun rooms occur off Fam. Rms, possibly connecting to Kitchen, often spilling out to mid-sized decks.

Depending upon neighborhood ammenities, a rare in-ground pool. Laundry rooms can appear on either floor, though most often btw Garage and Kitchen, near a small first floor guest room
